Rosemary

Rosemary is a pine-like shrub with long stems and short, needle-like leaves.
This herb is traditionally used for digestive upset and to ease headaches and migraines.   It’s also used to treat menstrual disorders and, externally, is used to speed healing in wounds and to treat eczema, good for blood pressure problems, digestive upset , memory function ,and reduce muscle & joint pain when applied topically
It can improve memory, decrease inflammation (and pain), and prevent cancer. That’s because it’s another herb that contains those powerful antioxidants that protect us from stress and toxins. It can also help with heartburn, intestinal gas, and headaches.

Add rosemary to your bath to help with eczema, muscle pain, and wound healing.

Sprinkle rosemary on your chicken, turkey, eggs, and baked potatoes and any vegetables

As a Tea it is also nicely paired with lavender and thyme.

Chervil is a delicate herb that belongs to the parsley family. Its nutritional strengths The richest in calcium, good for bones.

It tastes especially good when added with eggs. Be it poached, omelets or scrambled eggs, it accentuates the taste of the dish. It is also an excellent add on to salads.
Chervil stimulates digestion, improves circulation, helps alleviate liver problems and treats chronic respiratory ailments.
It is a source of vitamins C and A, which improves vision. It is Rich in minerals like iron, calcium, and magnesium. These are important for blood production and the healthy function of nerves and muscles.
Chervil tea is known in folk remedies is used seasonally as a blood purifier.
Chervil stimulates the digestion process and gently promotes the body’s natural waste removal system.

Chives

Sweet, mild-onion flavored chives are fresh top greens in the onion family of bulb vegetables,  Its nutritional strengths: From the family of alliaceae, like garlic and onion, it contains sulfur compounds recognized as protective against digestive cancers.

Chives stimulate the appetite and promote good digestion. They can be used to ease stomach upset, clear a stuffy nose, reduce flatulence and prevent bad breath. Combined with a low-salt diet, they help lower high blood pressure. Plus, they have a mild diuretic effect, as well as some antibacterial properties.

Chives are valued for their many essential minerals, including cardiac-friendly potassium, bone-strengthening calcium and blood-building iron. Chives are high in folic acid , vitamin A , C and K I
They also speed recovery if a cold develops by helping the body to expel mucus as  the sulfurous compounds in chives are natural expectorants.
Scientific research shows that chives stimulate the body’s digestion of fat. Eaten regularly, chives may help lower blood cholesterol levels.

The healing herb has also been shown to reduce the risk for gastric cancer. Sprinkling chives on salads and pasta is great, but cooking with chives is delicious or put on white cheese,  salads, grated carrots, cucumber and artichoke .I love Chive in my omelette.

we all know that “weed” that sting  that most of us pull and throw out. Nettle has so many health benefits, they can hardly fit into this small space.

Dandelion is considered a natural mild diuretic, which could make the herb helpful in treating poor digestion and liver disorders. The root may also improve gastrointestinal disturbances as well as liver and gall bladder function. The entire plant , leaves, flowers, roots, even stalks can be used.In general, dandelion tea helps stimulate glandular activity and the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. The resulting increase in saliva, gastric juice and bile production improves the function of all the digestive organs. . At the same time, this medicinal tea can lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Thyme has a long history of use in natural medicine in connection with chest and respiratory problems including coughs, bronchitis, and chest congestion, If you have a cough, sore throat, stomach pain, or diarrhea, thyme can be a huge help because it works as a natural antibiotic, anti-fungal, and anti-spasmodic  Thyme also contains high amounts of anti-oxidants, which protects your cells from oxidative stress (a type of stress within our bodies caused when toxins are not balanced by anti-oxidants that has been associated with aging, memory loss, and cancer).

Throat gargling with tepid thyme water or drinking few sips of thyme tea may help relieve coughs, sore throat, and bronchitis symptoms, as a  mouthwash it helps in the treatment of caries and gingivitis.

Thyme is an excellent source of vitamin C, A (in the form of provitamin A carotenoid phytonutrients) as well as a good source of iron, manganese, copper and fiber.

One of the popular among culinary herb plants, thyme originally is native to the southern Europe and Mediterranean regions. Thyme flowers and leaves taste great on fish and chicken.You can also infuse olive oil with thyme. Thyme herb imparts intense flavor to the recipes, and therefore, should be added sparingly

Tarragon is excellent with seafood, fruits, poultry, eggs and most vegetables, as well as sauces, particularly bearnaise sauce. Tarragon can easily dominate other flavors, and care should be taken when using tarragon. T

 In folk medicine, tarragon has been traditionally used to treat toothaches, upset stomachs and some parents even used it to stave off intestinal parasites in their children.   Much like parsley, tarragon has also been used as way to induce menstruation.Tarragon is the herb which helps to prevent from cancer as well as viruses. The intake of the tea made from Tarragon helps to alleviate intestinal worms. The regular consumption of tea prevents stomach cramps, menstrual cramps, nerves, digestive problems and enhances appetite. The toothache could be alleviated by chewing the leaves. The application of crushed leaves helps to cure the skin irritations and minor rashes on the skin.

Dill can grow quite tall with beautiful, fragrant flowering heads and feathery, fragile leaves.

Dill’s flavor is slightly licorice-like, deeply fragrant and unmistakable.

This herb contains several antioxidants, vitamins like pyridoxine and niacin, as well as essential fibers that are helpful in controlling the levels of blood cholesterol., reducing the levels of blood sugar. Apart from that, these seeds are rich in vitamins, such as riboflavin, folic acid, beta carotene, vitamin A, niacin and vitamin C, which are all essential for the body’s metabolism. Dill is also a great source of essential minerals, such as potassium, copper, manganese, calcium, magnesium and iron.
